saturation point

I love accessories, but when you have something shoved in your face for a long time, you get bored and annoyed because:

1. This scarf is everywhere.
2. This scarf is even worn by high school students.
3. This scarf has become a mechanical part of wannabe chic people.
4. This scarf is so unoriginal.
5. This scarf is still advertised in the latest Urban Outfitters catalog and is paired with a military jacket. The horror.
6. This scarf needs to be stored and be untouched for at least 3 years.

NOOOO! I love my scarves!

What should I wear around my neck when it gets cold? Okay, summer is here and it has been fairly warm lately. But I still love my scarves.

Totally agree!! At least 10 people I walk by everyday have it on, it's just every where, like a uniform, it has to stop.

if they have every color selling at st. mark's street, we need a closure!

Agreed. I've got nothing against scarves at all, but this particular pattern is everywhere.

thank god!

I used to love mine, but I knew it was time to say goodbye when I was in london urban outfitters and a 40 year old woman picked one up from a display next to me.

It's that Yasser Arafat-inspired trend...which I avoided.

more or less: http://darialogist.blogspot.com/2007/04/daria-appears.html

in italy a similar type of scarf was very popular 10-15 years ago because of its political meaning: it was a symbol of palestine ppl(against isrealians). does it have it in america too nowadays?

urban outfitters sure knows how to kill a trend

collar bones are the new scarf.
; )

i semiagree with you. i think it is unfair to talk like that for us that wear our desertscarf as a symbol of our support for palestine. but than again, i would bet a lot of money that most people wearing the scarves do it because it's fashionable. it's sad, because it ruins the message of the scarf

Haha! Great commentary. Looking deep and depressed in a cheap urban outfitters outfit is aweful and akward (not to mention embarassing) (even if you by accident purchased it from an over priced hipster botique).

I hate that this scarf is so popular because i actually like it but its not like im going to be seen wearing it in public...
